So anyway......I am super excited to say that I have passed all things Cricut on to new owners and have ventured into the world of the Silhouette Cameo. I am still learning.....but WOW....what can this machine not do?
One of my first projects is this super adorable gift for my neighbor. She is having a baby in a couple of months and when I saw this I HAD to reproduce it. And the Silhouette made that a very easy task!!!!!
I use to sing "Baby of Mine", from the movie Dumbo, to my kiddos when they were little; and sometimes sing it randomly even now that they are not so little anymore... (excuse me while I wipe a tear or two).
This is a super simple starter project....but I love it nonetheless!
I picked up the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas from a great local craft store. I saw it and just had to play with it. I love playing with new materials!!!!
I found the image and recreated it in Silhouette Studio using the tracing tool. I then colored it in, chose a fun font (A Yummy Apology from DaFonts.com).
I printed out the design and then cut it out with the Silhouette (yes...it is just a rectangle...not extremely impressive....but give me some time....I have only had my machine for a couple of weeks.....I will get there!)
I did sew together the little washcloths too. I found a little tutorial on how to make these washcloths...super easy....and they are so much better than the cheap ones I found at Shopko. And 100 times more adorable too!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to share more fun projects...crafting world watch out...I'm back! Bwahahahahah!!!!!!
Oh my, this is so precious! Seems like a pretty gutsy project for a newbie. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenna! I was an pro on the Cricut for years so I am not at all new to the electronic diecutter world....but now to the Silhouette. I am taking to it quite nicely! LOL
DeleteSo cute! (And the music is just precious, too!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute projecT! Great job!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I guess I had forgotten all about that sweet song! . What an adorable gift - so precious!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable! I think one of the reasons I like it is because I did my son's room in blue and brown so the black and blue appeals to me in that same way. Keep up the good work!
